I am in no way an expert on “allyship.” I, a white person, am learning to do better every single day. Below is a list of resources that share even more resources on how to be a HELPFUL ally. It is one thing to call yourself an ally, it is another to act as an ally. As we all know, actions speak louder than words. Use these resources to learn how to bolster your words with action, how to be of use to your Black friends and the greater Black community, and how to use your white privilege for good–for justice.
- Guide to Allyship
- Subscribe to the Anti-Racism Daily Newsletter by Black-wellness educator Nicole Cardoza
- A non-exhaustive list of antiracism resources – adapted from the antiracism resources Google Doc floating around the internet. This is a great place to start.
- Resources collected by the Fortune staff – includes organizations to support, books to read, articles and blog posts, films and TV shows, Instagram accounts to follow, Black-owned businesses to support, resources for parents, podcasts, and other resource compilations.
- Anti-Racism Resource Kit – this is especially useful for students/faculty/staff with children. Discussing race with your children is uncomfortable when you don’t have the tools at your disposal, but this resource provides various activities you can do with your children to facilitate these crucial discussions.
